"There are more saints in Cornwall than in all of Heaven," says an old Cornish proverb. During the Dark Ages, Celtic missionaries settled across Cornwall, establishing small religious cells near wells, springs and other sacred landmarks. Over time, many of these sites became churches, leaving a legacy still visible throughout Cornwall today.
