If you have ever visited a modern craft brewery and you’ll know that there is more to great craft beer than just the recipe. The foundation of good modern craft brewing is great equipment, the marriage of tech and brewer in perfect harmony.

The workhorse of the operation is the brewhouse, where malt, water, hops, and yeast begin their journey. Large stainless-steel tanks handle everything from mashing and boiling to cooling the wort before fermentation. Temperature control and cleanliness are king here, alongside the precision processes that make the difference between tidy and exceptional craft beer.

The brewhouse will contain some key components, including the mash tun, the lauter tun and the brew kettle. Each play their part in the brewing process, from crushing the mal, to separating the liquid wort from the spent grains to boiling and whirlpooling.

Fermentation tanks, often tall and conical, are where the magic happens as yeast turns sugars into alcohol and those signature flavours develop. The bright tanks help to polish and carbonate the beer before it heads to the production lines to find a home in cans, bottles or kegs.

Finally, packaging lines bring it all together, with keg fillers, canning or bottling machines, and labellers ensuring each pint leaves the brewery in perfect condition.

We love blending technology with time old craft brewing techniques to create our beers. There's nothing better than a well turned out can or bottle that we know has been through a perfect process.
