She's the gem in our crown, Slipway NEIPA is everyone's favourite beer, and she has had a little makeover.

It’s still the same session NEIPA we all know and love—just with a fresh, refined look that does it justice.

As our ambitious Cornish brewery continues to grow, we wanted to bring the branding of all our beers closer together, creating a unified range while still letting each beer shine on its own. Slipway was first in line for this work, and we knew we had to get it right.

The original design, featuring a striking Nick Pumphrey image, drew people in with its bold blues and captivating style, it felt like it echoed the place we are from with its vivid depiction of the bold Atlantic ocean. We wanted to carry that same energy forward while giving Slipway a fresh look that follows the direction we are moving in.

Bringing the Vision to Life

To make this happen, we teamed up with two incredibly talented artists—each bringing their own passion and skill to the project and transforming our loose ideas into something special. Finding people who can bring the vague idea of a brand to life can be difficult, thankfully we have an abundance of creative talent here in Cornwall.

First up, Hazel McNab, an exceptional artist and printmaker, captured the beauty of the Cornish landscape in a breath-taking new background print for the can. Her work perfectly reflects the movement and texture of the sea, immortalising the spirit of Slipway in every detail. She is an outstanding artist, who create prints and artwork that tells the stories of the Cornish coastline, bringing them to life in a vivid yet sympathetic manners, her images are stunning. We'd highly recommend checking out her work over on social media or on her website.

Complementing Hazel’s artistry, Ali, known as Handsforfeet created a unique and custom typography for the can, bringing a fresh yet timeless feel to the new branding. As an illustrator and designer, we’ve worked with before, Ali took the time to develop a typography that seamlessly fits with Hazel’s artwork—balancing creativity with clarity. Ali's work speaks for itself, and he has worked with some incredible brands over the years, with a really recognisable style that we love for its fun. You can follow Handsforfeet over on Instagram or check out his other work on his website.

A Plan Comes Together

Seeing this new design come to life has been an amazing journey. It’s always rewarding when an idea turns into something tangible, and this is one of those moments where everything just clicks. We couldn't be more pleased with the final results, and we can't wait to see the cans of shelves of shops and in our own shops. Sure, change can feel a little awkward to start with, but we are sure that this new look is a timeless classis in the making.

We hope you love the new cans as much as we do—and, of course, enjoy the beer inside just as much as ever.

A massive thank you to Hazel and Ali for their passion, talent, and dedication to making this project something special. It’s been a blast, and we’re excited for what’s next.
