Six places to enjoy a pint of Cornish Craft beer from St Ives Brewery
It's all well and good brewing great Cornish craft beer and delivering to customers at home and in the trade, but we like to road test these places for a pint ourselves. We also think it's well worth us sharing our local knowledge of places to eat and drink in Cornwall. So read on for six fresh spots to enjoy a pint of our Cornish beer, places with great surroundings, great food and great craft beer.
Hub St Ives
We covered Hubbox Truro in our last blog about places to enjoy our craft Cornish beers, but Hub St Ives is where the Hub journey began. It's a legendry spot for award winning burgers, exceptional vibes, incredible views and great beer. It really is perfect for families, couples, groups and the dog is even welcome. Go get a burger and enjoy the harbour at high tide. You won't regret it.
Rashleigh Inn, Polkerris
Out in East Cornwall you'll find a myriad of beautiful coastal and countryside villages and hamlets, many of them with fabulous pubs. Polkerris, just outside Par is no different. This is where you'll find the Rashleigh Inn. Right on the water and serving up a solid menu of pub classics alongside an amazing specials board and using an abundance of local ingredients. It's a perfect spot for a pint and a good feed.
45 Queen Street, Penzance
Tucked away off Chapel Street in Penzance you'll find 45 Queen Street. It's an amazing venue, housed in an old factory and serving an eclectic menu in beautiful surroundings. Loads of specials and lots of good vibes and beers make it one of new favourites for a light lunch or evening of socialising. It's a also dog friendly and even has a deli indie - they are currently closed but will re-open at Easter and we highly recommend it's on your 'to visit' list.
Rum & Crab Shack, St Ives
Tucked away, up some stairs on the harbourside in St Ives is the Rum and Crab Shack. Famed for superb seafood and incredible cocktails it's a place not to be missed. If you are craving a crab dish and a great run infused cocktail or a great Cornish craft beer to wash it down with then look no further. We love the Rum ad Crab shack - an amazing ambience, warm and welcoming and always a fun night out.
Shipwrights Arms, Helford
A quintessential Cornish classic. On the riverside and serving up an incredible food menu and equally impressive drinks offering. It's a proper countryside pub affair, once for all times of the year, whether it's bunking down and staying coy n the winter or enjoying the views of the river outside in the summer.
Host St Ives
Ok, you caught us, three St Ives spots in one blog is possibly a bit much, but at least you can plan your next visit to our hometown knowing where to go.
Host St Ives is located at the top of town away from the harbourside, in entirely renovated former bank. Host offers accommodation above its quite amazing brasserie style venue. Good food, good cocktails and great beer await you here. It's a warm and cosy venue with amazing hospitality. We love Host and it comes highly recommended for, in all honesty, those child-free evenings.
That's a wrap for this time for place to enjoy a craft beer from Cornwall. We'll always be available online of you cant get to these places or live further afield - our webtop is a treasure trove of Cornish IPA, Cornish Pilsner and all manner of mixed cases of Cornish craft beer.
