Christmas is great for lots of reasons, but for us we love enjoying some time off with loved ones. That often involves a family walk, or perhaps some time together enjoying a meal out and letting someone else cook. What makes this better is knowing we can get a pint of St Ives Brewery Cornish craft beer whilst we are there, or at a pub at the end of a walk.

Here's a few festive spots for a pint:

The Sloop Inn, St Ives
Our friends at The Sloop Inn come highly recommended, with a picture perfect pub on the harbourside in St Ives. It's an amazing spot all year round, but it is a particularly warm and welcoming pub during the festive season. A place where you can enjoy local music and great food too, add it to your list if you are out and about in the area over Christmas.

Old Coastguard, Mousehole
Mousehole is well known for its amazing Christmas lights, with visitors flocking to the pretty fishing village over the festive season to enjoy the harbour and its light display - you'll usually find singing groups and more on the harbourside on a Saturday evening through December too. Once you've soaked up the atmosphere we'd point you in the direction of The Old Coastguard for a warming pint of our beer, perhaps some great food too. It's a fabulous establishment with a warm and cosy interior and views across Mounts Bay towards the eponymous St Michael's Mount.

Old Ale House, Truro
Truro is a great little city for a visit over Christmas, with a great Christmas market on the Lemon Quay till December 22nd, plus there are a myriad of shops to enjoy some pre Christmas, or post Christmas sale shopping. There are plenty of places to enjoy food and refreshment, but we'd definitely recommend a visit to the Old Ale House. This one is a proper traditional pub, with a variety of great Cornish craft beers, including some from us.

The Front, Falmouth
A cosy little establishment on the Quayside in Falmouth, The Front is a perfect retreat from the cold for a refreshing and warming pint. If you are in Falmouth exploring the shops, visiting the Maritime Museum and spending some time with family then we'd advise a stop here. They also offer a decent food menu too, so you can fully soak up that cosy pub atmosphere.

Portreath Arms, Portreath
Another pub that offers great food, a cosy setting and superb craft beers from Cornwall. The Portreath Arms is nestled in the seaside village of Portreath, a great spot for some winter wave watching, especially if there's a storm brewing - watching waves hammer over the pier and the Monkey Hut is a real experience. If you fancy a stroll somewhere with a great venue to finish in then head for Portreath and the Portreath Arms.
