Summer is here and St Ives is bustling. It's easy to see why when you are here, it's a place where history, art and culture meet the beauty of the Atlantic and perfect sandy beaches. A place we are fortunate enough to call home.

Whether you're here to chase waves, soak up some art and culture, or just watching the sun sink into the sea on Porthmeor beach, there’s one thing that makes every summer moment even better: a cold Cornish craft beer from St Ives Brewery.

Here’s our top tips for things to do in St Ives this summer.

Hit the Beach, followed by one of our taprooms

Start your day with a stroll on Porthmeor or Porthminster, wander around the quiet cobbled streets around the harbour and grab a coffee. Then head back to the beach for a day of sand, sun and sea. When the day is done head to our taproom in Hayle (Thursday to Saturday) or The Art of Brewing on Fore Street in St Ives for a pint of the good stuff.

Explore the Tate and Art Galleries

St Ives is famous for its art scene and the unique light that illuminates the coast near our home in West Cornwall. Spend an afternoon exploring the Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Museum, or the tucked-away galleries in town. Then pick up a few cans of St Ives Brewery beer, cans you'll find feature amazing artwork depicting the local area. Slipway IPA was recently rebranded using artwork that was developed by local artist Hazel McNabb.

Walk the South West Coast Path

Hit the trails for a walk or trail run and soak up the vistas on the Southwest Coast Path. Head West out of St Ives past Clodgy Point and on towards Zennor and Gurnards Head, places where you'll find great pubs like The Tinners Arms and The Gurnards Head. Great food and some of our beers await intrepid adventurers.

Sunset Sessions at the Brewery

Head to the taproom in Hayle to soak up the last of the days sun outside the brewery. Enjoy cold Cornish craft beer at source and enjoy food from great local producers, from pizza to tacos. If you're here in late July come along to our Festival of Music, Food and Beer to enjoy Cornwall's only festival in a brewery.

Take a Surf or SUP Lesson

Summer’s perfect for getting on the water. Local surf schools offer lessons for all levels, and the calm bay is ideal for stand-up paddleboarding. After working up a thirst, paddle your way back to a well-earned Helles Mouth Cornish Lager, Summer Hazy Pale Ale or one of our other great beers.

If you want some advice on places to visit, things to see and do or recommendations for other food and drink then just ask. We love sharing our home with others and passionate about making sure people to get to enjoy the area as much as we do.
